Homestead Diary Herd for Lease or Sale

 

Our homesteading family is actively looking for a wonderful home for our organically managed dairy goats.  Beginning in November, our four beautiful does (2 Nubian & 2 Nubian/Alpine) need a small homestead with people that will care for them with love and kindness.  Homestead self-sufficiency, security and sustainable living can be achieved by managing a small herd of dairy goats.  Offering fresh milk, soiling building manure/fertilizer and enthusiastic companionship, our goats are major givers, asking little in return.  In addition to amazing organic fresh goats milk (sweet and delicious - unlike store bought) we actively make cheese, ice cream, butter, and soap. 

Raising a homestead milking goat takes a minimum amount of space but dedicated time. The milk which a goat produces is economical and more nutritious than store bought milk could ever be, and being self reliant for milk is a wonderful feeling. We recommend the small homestead to have at least 2 milking goats. One good milker will provide you with approximately one gallon of delicious, healthful raw milk per day. While the average family may not drink a gallon of milk per day, extra milk can be made into yogurt, butter, cheese, ice cream, and soap.  

We need to find the perfect fit for our does.  The first requirement is a loving small farm/homestead family (at least a couple acres) to take in our goats.  If you have ever wanted to try out goats this might be the perfect opportunity.  The second requirement is to keep them organically managed (which is not hard at all).  

We are very open to a lease, out-right purchase or a year-long borrow arrangement.  Please contact us to discuss the opportunity in detail.
